There is no such thing as a "bad" effect from a Reiki session, as these symptoms are usually confirmation that the Reiki is being received and serving its purpose.

Please also understand that everyone’s experience is unique to them and can be experienced differently. The intention, and what you want to gain out of your session is the most influencing factor. Your intention is something I am working towards you achieving through your session. Something else I am working towards during your session is bringing your higher self/wiser mind forward.

The word Reiki is of Japanese origin and translates to “Universal Life Force Energy”. Humans and all living things are made up of their own energy, vibration and frequency. Energy can be channeled and sent with intention of the practitioner and participant. Reiki works with the Aura, Meridians, and the Chakras (energy centers) of the body. Since Reiki is Life Force Energy that already exists in living beings, it does not cause any harm. Whether it’s for 5 minutes or more than an hour, there is no such thing as too little or too much Reiki. While Reiki has been suspected to have been around for thousands of years, it was officially discovered in Japan by Mikao Usui in 1922. It was first introduced in the U.S a decade later by Hawayo Takata in the state of Hawaii before spreading to the mainland.

During a Distant Reiki Session, the intention of the practitioner sending energy and the recipient’s openness/surrender to the Reiki energy are the most important components to a successful Reiki session. The second most important component to a Distant Reiki session, is ensuring that one will not be distracted and that they can be fully relaxed and present during the session. The final component to a Distant Reiki session is ensuring that one is physically comfortable in their physical space and clothing. Reiki follows the universal principle that everything is connected beyond time and physical space.

In a Traditional/ Face to Face Session, Reiki can be sent through touch and hand placements around the body while the recipient is on a massage table. Regardless if you are having an in person/or a distant healing session; the more relaxed, calm, and open you are to the Reiki energy, the results are even better!
